As you all probably have heard I lost a very good friend this past weekend. Cindy Offutt and I had been friends since the 6th grade. We spent every waken moment together. I even believe one year I got to wake up with her on Christmas morning. We did EVERYTHING together. We grew closer and closer for several years until she and her sister decided to move to Cookeville to be with their mother. Cindy and I still stayed in touch and even saw each other quite a bit at the beginning. We slowly lost touch but always stayed close.
Cindy got mixed up with a wrong crowd after she had her daughters but didn't realize that it would later on take her life. I talked to Cindy last on my Birthday May 3, 2010. She called to tell me Happy Birthday and that she loved and missed me. I told her I wanted to see her but was in a hurry and had to go. Jill her sister called me a couple of weeks later and I knew in my heart it wasn't good news. She called to tell me Cindy had been missing for 11 days and it didn't look good for her survival. There had been numoruos of anonymous tips leading up to the discovery of Cindy's body. They are not releasing much info about Cindy's murder but it looks as Cindy had been beaten.
I miss Cindy so much. She didn't deserve this. She was the Biggest hearted person I've ever known. She wouldn't hurt anyone as much for them to beat her. I just hope and pray that there is Justice to this. I'm asking you all to continue to pray for Jill and her family. Cindy is leaving behind two Beautiful girls, a Mother, and a loving Sister. Jill and Cindy have ALWAYS counted on one another for support. In a way they were all each other had for a long time. Jill and Cindy's father died about a year and half ago. So there was still some grieveing over him. Now Jill has to bury her sister just a short time later. Jill has found out recently that it could take up to two months for the Autopsy to be completed and Cindy's body be transferred to the funeral home. These are some trying times but I keep encouraging Jill to keep her Faith high and God will coach her though this.
Thank you all for the continued prayers. They are much needed!!
